Alarm sound off

Why is my alarm setting itself off everyday?

My car has just been sitting waiting for the parts for a new coming system.

Anyone else have this issue?

I searched for a similar topic but came up with little.

Could be your hood switch. Unplug the connector at the switch to disable it

flyfishvt I looked over the switch and found that even though it look secured to the fender well it actually has a weak push pin holding it in so it has a lot of movement. I've unplugged it for now and will find a new pin to affix it securely.

Thank you for the heads up on that switch. I'm sure the alarm was driving my neighbors nuts during the days that I'm working late.

That switch may not be the problem. If your alarm was originally installed by the dealer when the car was new then it's connected inside the car. If your car never had a BMW alarm installed by any dealer then that switch is not connected to anything. Behind the glovebox is a male/female harness connector that leads back out to that switch. So even though that switch is plugged in where it sits in the engine bay it may not be connected back inside the car. Hopefully unplugging solves your problem but it might not.
