Has there ever been an attempt at modding in a cabin filter? I was thinking about doing something like that as a side project, maybe fabbing up something above or below the heater blower motor. It's not a big deal, but it might be a nice touch.

What, you don't like getting all the road dust and chopped-up bits of leaves in your face while driving 90+? ;)

I did try this once, but a little bit of filter after the blower really killed the air velocity and volumetric flow.

I feel like even a chicken wire mesh would be good enough to stop SOME of the crap that gets stuffed in there.

You have to become adjusted to a open lifestyle to drive a 6. No amount of unwanted toxicity will affect you. You're lucky, and special. Remember?

I do seem to recall having been called special from time to time...

I bought some of the A/C filter for your house that you can cut yourself from Home Depot. Just cut to size and placed on either side of the heater/fresh air blower. Not great but works!

Clean all the crap out of the well under your hood vents and it won't be coming in through the heater. Then, don't park under the trees that put it there in the first place.

You hit the nail on the head. The best place to install any filter IMHO, is on the underside of the hood vents. Parking strategy helps too. I have pondered removing those cheesy plastic grills from the underside of the hood vents and gluing some black fiberglass window screen material to them. That is number 27 on my list of things to do...
