Whats the best way to fix a saggy glove box? I've seen the screw method and some people say it did something or nothing at all. Also I really dont want screws or bullet holes in my dash if it doesnt work :eyecrazy. Thanks guys

I've always thought about modifying the piece of plastic on the 'door' that clicks into the dash... like wrapping it in something so that it will sit closer to the das when it's closed. you follow?

Yeah I do, there was one guy that bend the hinge inward to force the latch to hold the door closer.. I might try that one since that hinge is fairly cheap

The only way to fix a saggy glove box is to buy a dodge RAM

Another new thread regarding this topic? There's only like 3 million of them.

So I'll keep it short as I gave the definite answer 3 million times as well: new vents assembly.

Vents can't be taken out separately. You need to take the glovebox+vents out as a whole. Then you can remove if needed.

The plastic hooks break. Know this and it will never sag. Both my E36's gloveboxes, which are 18 and 16 year old, do not sag.

I did this and posted about it, still the best solution I've come across.

Mine sags, and the PO tried to put wood screws about an inch to the side on each side of the latch.. This did not work. I removed the screws and now have holes, which still looks better then the bronze colored screws.

Are the hooks correctly inserted into their accepting holes? The hole reason it sacks is because the vent trim doesn't sit tight against the glovebox housing. These plastic hooks arethe only bits that hold it together.

Well and the mounting screws play a small role.

The hook/catch itself can only be fitted one way, so can't be it. That would be obvious if not correct.

Burger King napkins and owner's manual you've never needed to open once are too valuable to put anywhere else?

That was literally all the convincing I needed to do it, have not regretted it at all.

That's true. I've never once opened the glovebox in my e36 m since I've bought it.

Spyke, can you make that but leave the accent bar that has the vents? My ac still works :shifty

Makes me wonder what you do with a broken seat, steering wheel or wheel bearing. Just delete it as well?

Lol, no things that actually have a function stay or get upgraded. Glovebox was not paying rent though, had to go.
