Would appreciate any suggestions about how to lower my car. Just put these 19" Hamaans onto my car. The car is a 2002 540i with sport suspension. I'm planning on keeping my stock shocks for a bit and putting on H&R sports springs. Thanks.

H&R has a great reputation for quality and style. Many track junkies and even some club racers use H&R race-sport springs. The street springs will lower the car but will not increase ride harshness much at all. You can thank the BMW chassis engineers for that, too. The E39 is the stiffest and strongest sedan in the world. Interstingly enough, it took the crown away from the Oldsmobile Aurora!
Turner Motorsports has the H&R Street springs for $227.95. Specs show it lowers the front by 1.3" and rear by 0.75". If you are daring, you can cut off 1/2 or up to 1 coil off. This MAY result in suspension bottoming on bumps. Not good. If you want to SLAM the car, you will have to put up with some pretty stiff spring rates (400+lb/in) and custom valved shocks to prevent the car from bottoming.
I'd say the H&Rs are your best bet.
Nice car, BTW. Post some pics on the "Rides" forum.

I have Eibach prokit on my car right now sitting on 19" Hartge. From your pictures, I think my car is dropped a good inch lower than yours. I am adding probably Hamann shocks on my car and cut the coils about 1 loop. It should be SLAMMED after that. Good luck with yours.

i presently have intrax springs which lowered my car 1.6" Front and 1.3" Rear. the ride quality is still very good with these springs.
i would go with either eibach or H&R, or intrax depending on what you want from your car.

Thanks to you all for the info. I'll probably end up going witht he H&R Sport springs. I think that will end up lower the car the right amount. I think I'm going to have to accept the fact that the ride will be a little harsher. I'm waking until I can afford the shocks.
