I need new S.I. board batteries because my ProgRama batteryless board must go back to ProgRama for repair, and I don't want to take the car out of service.

I can find plenty of Sanyo CR14250SET-FT batteries on the 'net, but when I call / email to inquire as to the date of manufacture they shoot me dates as old as 2006 --- on batteries with a 10-year shelf life! OnlyBatteries.com (same company as MegaBatteries.com) is one of these:
http://www.onlybatteries.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=17680.101&cat1=51&uid=2175
Some won't respond with a date at all.

Has anybody been able to buy these batteries with recent date codes?

Jeff

Have you thought about running without the board while you settle with programma?

To the best of my knowledge the car should be fully operational w/o SI board.

I assume you are fixing your old board? a couple of options:

1) Google "BatteriesPlus" and they have a store locator on their site so you can walk in (or call ahead) and read the date and ask that they get in some fresh ones if they are too old?

2) Replaced each of the 3v Lithium's with a separate remote battery holder containing two 1.5 volt AA batteries in series. Just solder a wire into each of the two live mounting holes (+ and -) that the 3v Lithium was mounted into to replace it. This is what I did on a friends car and what I would probably do..

Alpina, I didn't know that I could do that. What other systems (if any) will be disabled if I do so?

And thanks, Chris. Yes, I am fixing the old board . . . which apparently worked except that the batteries were getting old.
