Hey guys, well the dogleg I was looking at fell through because of shipping from canada...

Im wanting a trans that has a bell housing that can be removed, (preferably with the holes for motronic sensors)

Id love a 265 trans with overdrive in good condition, not looking to build one but if the price is right I can deal with some bad bearings.

Let me know if any of you have one laying around.

Hey, sorry I can't offer any help with you transmission search, but could I cheekily ask about the one you weren't able to get from Canada? I live in Alberta and finding parts here can be tricky, most , are in the States (except clearly in the case of the transmission you were looking at) and cross-border shipping can be pricey and a headache to organize.

Thanks, and good luck with your search

It was a member here, he has a box in the classified section. He said shipping was going to be 400 dollars where in the states Ive shipped the same item for 80... I think Ive shipped things from england for less!

Webb I have shipped 2 trannies to Canada via UPS both times it was abpout $175. What you have to be careful of is two things. One is the declared value so you don't get ripped in customs. IIRC you can bring in $400 duty free. The second thing is to make sure that they don't use a customs broker which I don't think they do

Call UPS and maybe you can prepay the freight. The trans packed should weigh a touch under 100#s, and should fit in an 18" X 18" X 24", 140# rated box you can buy from UHaul

The trans came in the '85 635. Maybe others. And if I remember correctly also the '82 528. But you would need the correct bell housing.
