I'm looking for the solenoid inside the assembly. My diaphragm failed and I got an MTC replacement but that didn't work either cuz its crap. My optimal buy would be a used, but working heater valve solenoid out of a car that someone is parting. If you might have one or know of one that would be great.

Thanks!
Brad

I would triple check your assembly. There's a specific order for the washers/wave washer. I've never heard of a replacement core not working.

You might have a hard time finding a used one. People don't really part out something that inexpensive that's still being made. After shipping, it would probably be close to a replacement cost from pelican parts or autohauzaz.

I have a complete valve off an '85 528e. Same valve. PM me if interested.

I have, the new solenoid didn't fit over the magnet, I've been seeing how this is getting more common. I'm totally fine buying a used working one at the same price.

Send it back until you get one that fits, and complain to the vender about carrying low quality parts; the vender should also be putting pressure on MTC. Unfortunately, I think MTC may be the only ones making them now.

If we, as owners, don't make ourselves heard, there will be more and more junk on the market.
