AKG front diff bushing install question

So Im in the process of trying to install the 75D front diff bushing into the subframe. I'm using a 20HF press. I was under the impression that these bushings should go in with a few smacks from a hammer. The subframe bushings did. However, even the 20 ton press is having to exert an enormous amount of force to get it to go in. And when it does move it pops really loud. It wasn't sitting right with me so I stopped. What am I doing wrong?

Probably just going in a weeee bit crooked. Lube it and keep pressing. Make sure you press around its perimeter. Don't touch the center
