So I am getting an aluminum overflow tank made to eliminate the stock plastic unit. I have done a bunch of searching and weighing options as to the best route in terms of staying OEM, euro conversion, buying aftermarket aluminum, or having one made. No one offers a tank that really fits what I want to do in a price range I want to pay.
I have a mishimoto rad and fan so the stock mounting point is eliminated. Thankfully I have access to cheap fabrication. I am inquiring about any suggestions as to where I should place the tank. And if it turns out to be a good solution I may do a small run of them and sell them if people are interested.
So far I have landed on placing it where the windshield washer fluid reservoir is mounted. This makes it easy to run the existing coolant lines to the new tank with minimal extension. The new tank will also retain the stock coolant level sensor.
Any thoughts? And does anyone know the thread size for the coolant level sensor bung and nut?

Jegs has a bunch of small, easy to mount universal aluminum expansion tanks, for cheap too considering. None of those works for you?
