View Full Version : Just wanted to see if there are any other dinosaurs here...
Meaning how many people have been around the scene 10+, or 15+ years. I'm coming up on 16 years.. This includes "suzy's email list".. then onto roadfly.org then onto Dtmpower.net and then recently onto bfc.

Low-rise LTW....
I love your E36 long time...
FWIW, E36s were considered the bees knees since well before I joined. They get quite a lot of respect and its deserved, they are great cars. I only dont own one now because the ownership base kind of reminds me of being in high school. Would have loved to own one back in the days when you guys were around...
those were some of the best times of my life.. The friendships I made then are still as strong today if not stronger, It really is like we are family.
Edit: Manny G just said it the best.." I go on bmw forums feeling like Henry hill at the end of goodfellas. Noodles & ketchup" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja3Die31ihk&app=desktop

Been in a bmw, and joined back in 2002, but I had a large gap between owning my e30 and my "new" e36. Had VW stuff in the gap but the cars/scene just got too boring for me. Good cars for fun though when I couldn't comfortably handle the maintenance costs of a BMW/before I had the balls to turn my own wrenches. I'm no O.G. though. I was just a kid when I joined working at a skateshop to save up for RIMZ YO.

Mid 90s count? The old BMW mailing lists, UUC list, roadfly, BEN, etc.

Heh. I remember the first local E36 M3 showing up at a BMW CCA meeting in NJ. We were all oohing and aahing over it, and pointing "what's that?" and "what's this?" at all the cool stuff under the hood. It seemed so exotic back then.

I remember the NJ meets at Short Hills Mall parking garage... and the Menlo Park mall too... good times.
