Manual gearbox? Yes, change it and the differential fluid. Cheap insurance.

Hi,thx for reply, its an automatic transmission. According to local BMW its longlife oil and should not be changed, but i think it should, to reduse risk of damage.

"Lifetime" oil is really 100,000 mile oil, the life of the warranty.
But to be honest, I have never really heard anything good about people changing the oil on a car they arent having problems on currently. I have, however, heard many stories of people trying to do "preventative maintenance" on their cars by changing the fluid on their slushboxes and then having issues when they didnt before.
So I think its a case of "If it aint broke dont fix it"

"Lifetime" means as long as the tranny works!
