Hi, Im gauging interest in parts from my 85 euro 6. WBAEE310201052017 I bought it as a project and had intentions of restoring it. After getting into it(cleaning interior) and putting it on a lift and looking through its undercarriage with my body guy, we found significant rust and rot. I stored the car last spring till now and am leaning towards parting it out. I have no use for it. It does run. So I'm throwing out this part out feeler to see who's seriously interested in parts. Interior Is black buffalo manual sport seats, passenger seat is separated at bolster stitching. Hood, doors and trunk are solid. Drivetrain is in tack too. Euro bumpers are there but will need repairing. Fender flares are pending. Everything else is there even the m88! Pm me with interest. Haven't figured on prices yet either. Located in NY. Thanks!

Hi,

What is the condition of the gauge cluster? Particularly the clear plastic face/lense? Thanks

Is the rust really bad? It will be a shame to lose another Euro model :(

Here's a quick video/walk around I had my buddy take. I was reluctant to post pics because I beat another local enthusiast to this car. I believe he's on this forum too. He tried to. He tried to buy from under me but luckily the seller was a man of his word. Thanks for the interest n I'll answer all pm'd individually.

Hmmm... that is a lot of rust, and in some ugly places... Strange that some of the more common areas look solid, but I guess there is a lot more than what you were able to show.

Sad to say that probably is a parts car...

e24mpwr, I honestly thought I could save it and was very disappointed when reality set in. When I bought it I layed on the ground and checked what I could for rust with my iPhone light app lol. I also inspected the doors, which are solid. That's where I got fooled. I wasn't worried about the fenders as they're replaceable and I was planning to keep it for awhile. What attracted me to the car besides it being a true m and having the legendary m88/3 was the fact that the PO had a ton of records. He even purchased new metric tires! He was a muscle car guy hence the blue paint job lol.

My second plan was to turn my US spec e28 m5 into a tribute to the euro spec m5 since I had a very strong running drivetrain, ecu and headers. I believe euro mufflers are still available from GmbH too. Only problem was my m5 with 122k on it runs extremely well and it's got all maintenance issues up to date motor wise, and has excellent compression/leak down. It'd be a shame to fuss with it lol. So my last option is to start a part out. If it's not too much trouble can you pm me with fair prices I can expect for the parts or pm me your cell so we can discuss the part out. I have no idea what fair prices are. I was encourage to split the motor and sell the block separate from the head. Any advice would be appreciated.

All, I recently was in a car accident while sitting shotgun in my friends car. My head n neck got rattled pretty bad. So I've been off wrk recovering. I have a follow up appointment on Monday. If all is good I'm jumping right back in after dr visit is done. Sorry for the delay.

First get well, then take care of the parting. Don't mess with heavy liftig if you had even a mild concussion. To your health!

All, my apologies for leaving this part out in limbo. My head injury from the accident was more than I thought. But after some rest and a few Kat scans later doctor says I'm all good. I went to check on the m635csi today and pull some of the smaller items I've been getting inquiries on. I sprayed penetration oil on everything I could and will go back to my buddy's garage and repeat the process if the bolts are still stubborn. I hope to have 80% of the parts off by this coming Sunday. I will also take pics of items pulled and get back to the PM's and emails. I also have all PMs and will give first refusal to the guys that expressed interest first.

Igot,

I know I'm posting late, but I would like to buy the whole car and track it.

Any of the parts you've commited to you'll have to honor unless the buyer would give you a pass

because the car would have an extented life.

Last week I ran my 86 auto @ the Glen. Had lots of slow fun, only 102 mph at the bus stop.

The reason for the idea of a track car.

Let me know if we can make a deal?

I won't step on anyones toes, whatever parts are commited , is a done deal.

thanks

The fella parting this out was injured in an accident not long after listing. That being said, many people post stuff like this thinking they are going to get 20-30 parts requests for stuff that is either worth $100 a pop and/or easy to remove.

When the reality is the opposite, most will abandon the prospect altogether. Parting a car is hard stuff. I know

Really hope the owner recovers soon... I actually want to see this car go to the guy that wants to buy the whole thing, but if the owner is still parting things out, I'm really interested in the center console arm rest!!!

I also would like to know if anything for this car is still available. I'm pretty late to this, but I hope the OP has recovered/is recovering.
Interested in right rear window motor. Obviously that doesn't matter if the whole car was sold.

Thanks,
Trae
