I wasnt sure exactly where to post this, so here goes: How would you describe / compare / rate (in general) a 2010 550i 6-speed vs. a 2011 535i 6-speed Sport pkg? I realize this forum may be a bit biased but Id like to here what you have to say. The 2 cars are:

2010 550i- 6-speed, Value pkg, 28k miles ~$31k
2011 535i- 6-speed, Sport pkg, premium 1 and 2, Tech pkg 43k miles ~$38k

I have to admit that coming from my 2006 330i 6-speed, Sport, Premium I wasnt really impressed by the 2011 (the 2010 is out of state). Yes it was nice and luxurois and had a nicer interior than the 3 but everything about it was much softer (steering, brakes, etc). It pulled pretty strong but just didnt have any excitement to it. Seeing as the 2010 550i is the equivalent generation to my current car I was wondering if it maybe still had a bit more sport built into it?

i have an 07 550. I have heard the car has more on demand torque than the 535. But the 535 is a bit better on gas and equally as fast. You arent buying a racecar, its a luxury car that has some pep. If you want flat out speed get a mustang or camaro and save allot of money. If you have your heart set on one of these BMW's, i say the 535.

So if the E60 is similar to the F11 then it may not be the car for me. I have other cars for "flat out speed" but I really enjoy my E90 330i because it is not about speed so much but is a great combination of performance and luxury, but more focus on performance. Sounds like a 335 may be a better choice.

The F10 is cushier than the E60. Nice car if you want a luxury car. Test drive an E60 535i with N54 twin turbo or an E60 550i if you want a sporty 5 series.

I previously owned a 2010 550 m sport 6 mt and it was probably my favorite car i've ever owned. I had several f10 535's as loaners, and I always liked them...but I could never wait to get back into my e60. The engine is wonderful, so wonderful I just got an E66 750Li and I'm very happy I did.

Honestly you need to drive both, because it all comes down to the drive.
