Hi guys, I'm purchasing a 2007 BMW 530XI with 47k miles on it. I wanna know common problems with this car. Can anyone share their opinion please and thank you :)
IMHO, '07 530 is one of the most reliable cars. It has N52 engine. Has enough power (not as much as 545 or 550).
X-drive will come in handy in winter months. Keep up with all preventive maintenance and it will serve you many years. 47K miles is relatively low miles. Just curious, how much are you paying for it?

I have 229K on a 2006. The only major things were a starter motor, front wheel bearing and the rear suspension air pump. Minor things include one faulty coil pack, burnt lights, battery and two tie rod ends. There are electrical gremlins too. Radio reception is crappy and will not store stations and preselects, back up warning sensor stopped working, Blue tooth is not working, power locks remote not working. The electrical issues were likely caused by the defective battery but I have not had the car scanned to check. Otherwise an awesome car that is really fun to drive.

An '07 xi with only 47k miles? Wow! Sounds like a buy as long as the car is in good shape. I'd also be interested in what you're paying for it. Anything under $20K is good.
I have about 107k on mine. It has the 6-speed manual. Still have the original water pump (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/#), which has been a problem for many. Just replaced the 7 year-old battery. I got it CPO @ 67 k miles and since then the only major issues have been the steering angle sensor needed replacing, the heater fan blower went bad, I had an issue with my Sirius satellite receiver not picking up stations, and a bad rear speaker was swapped out. I also had the passenger seat sensor replaced before the warranty ran out.

I had a 2007 530xi with 6-MT, CA, CW, NAV and split rear folding seats. Sold it with just under 43K miles in Jan 13 for $23K.
RPM band.
Car had enough pep to to make it fun when you got into the 3-5K RPM range. I could cruise at 75 MPH on the highway at 30+ MPG. Super comfy, yet fun ride. With the rear seats folded down, tons of cargo space. Only reason I sold it is because I bought the wagon body. And while it is a more practical car for my needs, the sedan was the bomb!
Bought it with 25K miles for $26K. Had no issues ever with it. Engine an tranny were buttery smooth.
