Alright, so I'm not sure if this is going to work well or not, but I'm starting a thread here that I am going to direct all registered this year to. Caravan's are a tremendously fun way to travel - plus you have backup if something goes wrong (never with our cars, right?!) To keep things simple and easy to read, anyone who is looking for a caravan should post the following in the following format:
Departing From: Departure city
Departing: Departure date and time
Arriving: Planned arrival time
Route: General route
Cities Passed: Major cities you will be going through on your route
Overnight?: Overnight stop anticipated?
This thread may get messy due to replies so be prepared to pick through a bit.
So for me:
Departing From: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Departing: 4/30 before noon
Arriving: 5/1 before 3pm
Route: I95 North to I26N
Cities Passed: Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Colombia
Overnight: Yes
Let's see how this works!

The Louisville/Lexington group meets at exit 104 on I-75. Just a few miles from I-64. We'll meet at 9:00 AM and hit the road around 9:30. We also usually wait for folks coming north of us or anyone wanting to join us. Sometimes pick up other drivers on the way. If interested just simply show up.
We drive straight through arriving late afternoon/early evening.
Not sure of the route. Our leader Dave Gerwig knows. I just drive.
I've lost my 2 way radio and will get another. Get/bring one. Helps during the caravan and during some SESF events like the Friday drive.

See if this takes. I'm sure there will be more than 5. Doesn't matter though as long as we travel in a group. The M cars blasting through the tunnels is incredible.

Not quite sure yet. I ususally kinda go until I don't want to. Be advised though, I'm trailering the car this year so I probably won't be a whole lot of fun to caravan with. You're more then welcome to draft off of me though... lol. I probably won't be doing more than 60 the whole time. Blah.

Of course they do. But when compared to the M cars screaming here's no comparison. Especially the M635. Gotta be running through the tunnels to really hear it at full throttle.

I'm planning on leaving Jax about 7-8AM to get as far north as possible before it gets hot. Let me know if you're staying in Jax Wednesday night, I can give you tips on where to stay. I will probably be running about 75 mph max since that's about as fast as my old girl is comfortable. Anybody who wants to caravan, PM me and I'll give you my number.

The West Coast Fla. people are meeting at the Cracker Barrel Rest. Located at EXIT # 301 on I-75 on Thursday May 1st. we will be leaving the Cracker Barrel by 9:30am. We will be traveling up I 75 and cutting through GA. into SC and over to Spartanburg. (We like to avoid the "speed trap" towns located on SR 301 that takes us to I 95). We expect to get there when we get there sometime late Thursday afternoon to early evening.
