Hey everyone,

I got a little problem with what I think is the cluster. My speedo will work intermittently, as in sometimes it wont work at all when I start driving (and won't work the entire drive) or it will work upon start up (and then work the entire drive). I also have a problem where my high beams like to just pop on, especially if my left turn signal is on. I can just kinda pop the high beam arm a little bit and the high beams will turn off. but this happens repeatedly. Do you think this is something wrong with the cluster and signal arm? All of this started happening at the same time, I feel like its just some switches/contacts that need to be cleaned.

Thanks
Brad

Hi Brad,

I am having a similar problem to yours with my cluster, the speedo will work for awhile then stop, and never really predictable.

As for the turn signal switch, I also had the same problem. My problem was that the grommet that connected the actual stalk had worn out after twenty some-odd years. I tried to clean and pack it with electrical grease for a little while. I also tried wrapping a rubber band around the steering column to pull on the stalk, keeping it from allowing the high beams to come on. Neither really worked. So eventually, I just bit the bullet and bought a turn signal switch. Not where I like to spend my money, but it made driving at night a little easier.

It is. Specifically the second option, with On Board Computer. So that is the only thing you will have to determine when you select the one you need.
