Have you done the job before? With or without a lift? Dropping the sub frame? It's not a quick easy job being that the motor mount has to be removed...

I've done more than I can count, in 5,6&7 series. I always use a engine brace to suspend the engine while the motor mount and bracket are removed. No need to touch the sub frame bolts. A lift will definitely help you out.

I too have done plenty of them. But remember most people on this board are at home diy mechanics. It's not an easy job to do at home. That's what I was getting at

Gotcha, probably the most important thing to have is a safe and secure method of holding the motor up while mount and bracket is removed. Book time is right at 10hrs if that helps. Worst part of the job is they are usually filthy nasty.

I just did mine on a 2005 545i and I supported the engine from the cross member behind the oil pan. The job took me 7-8 hours the hardest part for me was relining the alternator bolts back up.
