cool!

You have a cool car, I like your style.

should I be running 10w 60 too?

hey, thanks bro

10w-60 is considered race oil
I like to rev out my gears and especially at the track sitting around redline it's a lot of abuse

Liqui Moly is my favorite oil, I've been using it for years. My vw took the 5W-30 or 5w-40
They make very good oil, look them up. They are getting bigger in the states

I was using Mobil 1 10w-40 before and it was good for the car but I wanted a race application. It's a few $ more but idc

I Just put in a set of Powerflex black subframe bushes today, haven't really driven the car since putting them in but love the ease of install!

How easy was it? Did you guys use a diy or shop install? Planning to do it next week any advice?

I used a rather bodge DIY effort. I heated the subframe with a blow torch, & put a large socket between the subframe bush & body. Apply heat long enough to melt the rubber (you'll know when it starts to create smoke) & then jack the subframe up onto the socket/body. The old bushing will simply slide right out. Just need to be careful of the fuel/brake lines running down the left hand side of the car. This method has been used by many & it definitely works, although not the safest.

Heh "race oil"

When did you order the powerflex units? I ordered some a few months ago and got them they were single piece that had to be pressed in and were a freaking mess.

Crap nm theyre subframers not control armers

Use 93FIM5's subframe bushing puller. It makes the job SOO much easier.

thanks for the advise, I will look into this DIY and figure out the best way to do it. My next track day is Friday so I might have to do this the following week. My friend has a press to get the oil one out. Hopefully that works well. Tell me this...do you have to drop the whole subframe to get this done? or its just that one bolt in front of the rear wheels (around the rear jack point area)

haha yeah "race oil" it is what it is, and what it is, is race oil =)

The bushings are a interesting story, I ordered and paid full price $127 shipped from powerflex usa directly.

Someone from powerflexusa called me (from VA) very nice guy, forgot his name..Told me that the item I ordered (the race series, black) is sold out in the United States and non of his retailers or wholesales have any in stock. He continued to explain that they are available in the UK and they would be getting their next shipment in sometime in May 2014.

I told him I have a few track days coming up and was really looking for this sooner then later. He told me that sometimes when they have a specific order, they get a package from powerflex UK overnighted to meet customer needs. I requested he do anything he can for me and I really do appreciate it. He said it would be possible that when that over night package is shipped, they will throw in my bushings.

I got a email 4-5 days later to let me know my package will ship within 2 weeks. I was very grateful to this guy. I got them 2 days after my first track day and still have not had time to install by the 2nd date (this Friday 04/18/2014) Hopefully I get to them soon, very excited

Thank you! I will ask my friend which tool he has and if needed, I'll be looking up this one. I believe his tool is custom made by him, he's been repairing older model BMW's for years and has a shop specifically for that in Long Island NY

If anyone has any pictures of their install...much appreciated!

There are some in my build thread. Do a quick search, there's a lot of SB content on here.
