wtb... e46 m3 or 330i 6 speed bellhousing

I'm looking for the bellhousing from a busted e46 m3 or 330 6 speed manual transmission.

you should know all transmissions are shimmed based on the bellhousing. and this can cause premature wear if off at all.

I just need it to fit on the e39 m5/540 6 speed transmission.
I've done it before with my previous e36 6 speed swap and rather use the m5/540 6 speed.

The 330i 6-speed bellhousing is the same as the e46 m3 bellhousing? I figured since the m3 bellhousing is a Getrag and the 330i 6-speed is a ZF that they would be different.

IIRC the 5 speeds are ZF but the 6 are getrag.
E46 manual 6 speed bellhousing can bolt up to e39 manual 6 speed transmissions BUT the e39 output shaft can't bolt up to e36 or e46 driveshafts, the transmission output flange would have to be changed to an e46 6 speed flange. I'm not sure if the e36 m3 flange would work. Also if your swapping the e46 manual 6 speed bellhousing on a e39 6 speed the input shaft to the pilot bearing has to be grinded down by about 1/2 inch, it took me a cracked bellhousing to figure that out! Lol.

The 330i 6-speed is the ZF GS6-37BZ, the M3 is the Getrag S6S-420G.

When I changed the bellhousing from e46 m3 to e39 m5 manual transmission it worked.

Yes, the M3 and M5 trans are the same other than the bellhousing and output shaft. They are both S6S 420G's.

Thanks Asmod3us. I know you have those but I'm going to use a m5 6speed so I just need the bellhousing of the e46 m3 transmission but if you have a damaged m3 6speed I would purchase the bellhousing.
