Minimum wheel size/offset to clear calipers?

Hi All, I'm new to the forum so sorry if this has been covered already! I was just wondering what the minimum wheel size is to clear the calipers on a 528 or 530 e39 and also the lowest offset you can go?
Also how much would this need to change to run an e39 M5 brake setup?

Offset doesn't really change caliper clearance in most cases. I ran into an issue though with my wheel bolts(3piece wheels) hitting casting marks on my calipers. I'm not sure on the size for your M5 brakes though. I'd see what the stock wheel size is and base your judgement off that.
