I have a 98 m3 and I'm trying to get the biggest tires I can however I don't know what I can clear! I am trying to figure out what I can clear with hard Motorsports flars on and 17 by 9 et33 front and 17 by 10 et33 rear the flars are currently being put on so I don't have an measurements but wouldn't mind some advice to as what others have done or think I can do! With heavly rolled fenders before I started flare project I was able to run 275/40r17 on the rear and 255/40r17 front. Rear had a 5mil spacer and front had a 20mil spacer and all 4 rims were et45

Any advice is much appreciated and finish project I will post pictures currently getting car ready for paint after flares are attached :)

Previous rim specs were 17 by 9 et45 square sorry those had the 275s and 255s on before I started the flare project!

Sorry, no info to add for you...
But, would you mind posting side profile and maybe an angled photo of the rear and front fenders? I'm thinking of going the Hard Motorsport flare route as well. I want to see if I'd rather just do a serious roll/pull to fit a 265 on my 17x9's squared with et24 Fr and et26 rear.

TIA :D

You were able to run a 275/40 on a 17x9 on stock body E36? Are you sure. That tire is tall and wide.

That was my exact thought as well - With my lower et wheel and only a 235/45, I'm already rubbing ever so slightly in the rear with rolled fenders..

I think you have to roll the fenders heavily and either jack the car up or tilt the wheels in with excessive negative camber. Vorshlag has tried racing on 275/40/17 on cars with heavily massaged rear fenders and reports lots of smoke from tire rubbing.

I run 18x11 et25 295 30 18 cup tire in the back with my rear dtmfiberworks flares. And front fiber fenders 265 30 18 on 18x9 et35 still got room for 315s in the back and maybe 285 upfront but really no need for such huge fites in the front
