So I've had a set of Four 17x8.5 Ltw wheels for a while now that have been begging to be put to use and since the weather is getting nicer around here I'm ready to throw some tires on them. I'm torn on what tire size to get however. I have a 98 m3 sedan on ISC Coilovers, not slammed but lowered. Ive figured out I'm most likely gonna need at least a 5mm spacer in the front to prevent any rubbing.

These are the tires I'm considering:

215/40/17
215/45/17
235/40/17

Its not a racecar, but I'd like to have a nice tuck and stance, I don't want to slam it though. I love how the LTW 8.5 have a nice lip so I'd like to show it off without having a fat tire taking away from them. I've searched around for different examples and I'm leaning more towards 215/40 just because of the look. I do like how 235/40 has a thin sidewall and keeps a somewhat decent contact patch at 235.

I'm stuck. HELP. Pics or experience running any of these tires would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to go really low 215/40r17 would be your best bet. That's what I have on my 17x8.5 Kosei K1. The more correct size for our vehicle would be the 215/45 or 225/45r17. I had 225/45r17 on the K1s but after going really low I was rubbing. They were 17x8.5 +25 though (after spacers). I bought the 215/40s to put on my style 5s but still haven't refnished them so I ended up just mounting them on my Koseis for now. If I were you I'd do a 215/45 all around.

I'm actually leaning towards a 205/45 now because of the stretch and the ability to maintain the spedo somewhat close to normal
