Hey all:

I am interested in adding M-Par replicas to my 2001 530i. I do not want to change the car's ride height at all. Suspension would remain the same stock setup. Replicas considered simply due to cost vs. OEM from dealer

Assuming I keep the overall rolling diameter the same as my current stock setup (225 55 16), if I go to 235 40 18's on the M-Par's will I have any rubbing issues or other suspension related problems to consider? My current 16" wheels are 7 or 7.5 in width. The M-Par Replicas are either 8 or 8.5, I'm not sure which.

I've seen pics of the e39 with the M-Par replicas. They look bitchin but I have no way of knowing whether additional mods were required.

Local shop gave me a bid for the wheels and tires. Tires are Falken. Any experience with this brand? I've never heard of it. My tire buying experience has always been Continentals, Goodyears or Firestones.

Thanks for any replies

I'm pretty sure you don't have to do anything. If you do, it's rolling the fenders.

Thanks for the quick answer. What does "rolling the fenders" mean? Sounds like body work.

Query #2: What is the best way to reply to a post so that all can see the response?

Well, it's body work, but not visible.
You have a lip on the inside of your fenders, and rolling them means that you flatten the lip, decreasing the chances of tire rubbing.

To answer your second question; You can either use the "post reply" feature, which alows you to see all your options or you can use the quick reply feature, which is the little white pad next to the "quote" in the posts.
