Hi I have a 2009 525d 3.0 6 cylinder 24v m sport business edition. Returns 40mpg in the real world and it gets pushed reasonably often and. M sport rides harder but corners as hard as your balls allows, looks meaner than the non m sport with different body kit from the factory and the door sill-steering wheel etc are nice. Mine is an auto with sport setting and has good pull even when fully laden thanks to the huge torque. If you want a good looking quite fast, reasonably economic BMW you can't go wrong. No major faults to report

That's the type of news I was hoping for I'm still don't know what engine size to go for my first thought is a three litre but is the two litre more economical but will need more pedal to get it going not that I want to thrash it about but I still need a car with some power

Bigger is normally better....depends on how much you are going to use it around town? If you are using B roads, motorways and want to have the assurance of the extra power before the turbo kicks in then the 6 cylinder 3 litre will never let you down.
