E24 sport seat issue

Tying to figure out how to fix all movements on my power sport seats. The headrests don't go up and down but you can hear the motors working. Also my drivers seat won't slide back only forward and you can hear the motor working. Any assistance/advice would be most appreciated

There's a post or ten over on Big Coupe Group about the headrest fix. It's amazingly simple and involves putting a short piece if coat hanger down into the drive shaft to lengthen the cable which apparently shrinks over time.

The other problem is similar to my experience a number of years ago. The dealer said I needed a new seat brain for $2400 but I found a guy who took the brain apart and basically just cleaned everything with contact cleaner. It's worked fine ever since.

I know that's not exactly a step by step, but hopefully it'll give you a place to start.

Well I fixed the sliding forward to rear issue had something lodged on track. Thankfully that was it. Now just the driverside headrest needs to be addressed and try to figure out how the seat memory works since I don't have the owners manual. Thanks for the info Capt!
