Had anyone gotten the automatic trunk opener to work?

Have a F30 with the convenient pack with the automatic trunk opener with the keyless entry. I kick my foot under the trunk but nothing expect that I look like an a---hole. Do you guys have issues the the auto trunk open?

In my experience, it works when it wants. True, don't stand so close as I seems as there is a sensor to keep it from hitting you in the face.

Overall, it does seem to work when my hands are full, so I like it.

Works side to side for me too, esp. in my tight garage standing a bit to the side not behind it. Takes a bit of trial and error.

I get about 50/50success when I attempt to use it.

Mine works every time.... Kick in/out without touching the car. My issue is that it doesn't actually fling open. The trunk seal is stuck to it too hard or something.

mine works most of the time. Like people said, dont stand too far forward. The salesman also suggests to use the BMW badge as a pointer, because the sensor lines up with it.

Thanks for your inputs, my wife has been far more successful in getting the trunk to open automatically since your posts on standing further back from the trunk and swinging your foot front to back.

My car is picky.
I do it maybe once or twice, then step away further.
At that point, it opens.

I had the M Performance Exhaust installed, and my SA thinks that the tech may have bent something.
Will have them figure it out.
