GL finding a Sachs.

WP - OEM BMW (Composite impeller) or Graf....
Fan Clutch - Behr
Fan Blades - OEM BMW

I have an almost new ACM Fan blade if you wanna try a cheapie (it was on the '03 that was totaled out for about 4k miles).

Does fan blade brand really make a difference ? I found this interesting.

Several options on water pump. For fan and clutch, there is but one acceptable option. None. :)

How do you feel about the one I posted previously along with the shroud, haven't heard any review for Mosimoto.

I bought both the BMW factory fan and the cheap 30 dollar knock off.
Interestingly, the BMW factory fan is of a much better quality.
The knock off was a poorly cast unit that was out-of-balance.
The BMW fan is more flexible and true spinning unit.
The price ain't cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for...

I finished a clutch/fan job recently. The general consensus is Sachs fan clutch and OEM BMW fan (if one is not going to go electric). I found my Sachs on eBay (shipped me the wrong part at first but the seller eventually made it right).

Anything plastic go with oem as ironic as that sounds.

Well I purchased the following;
1) Graf water pump
2)BMW OEM fan blades
3)Behr fan clutch
4) BMW Coolant

Did I miss anything, I got the gaskets associated with the water pump. Thanks for the input guys .

Apparently the e53 fan & fan clutch have a re-designed fan, that holds the blades together, so the fan would not shatter as it does with the current model.
The 530 with diesel engine have a similar design AND 2 versions: for hot climate & for cold climate. The question is: does the diesel WP (which is different from the gasoline engine WP) have the same threads for the fan clutch as the gasoline WP? below is the exact diesel fan blade that does NOT shatter:

I don't think the water pump comes with a surface gasket. I know it comes with a rubber O ring though.
