Anyone have issues with the aeromotive eliminator pump? Had to return mine recently because i started losing fuel pressure after the car warms up. I sent it in and they returned it without charging me. They said the pump inlet was a little worn.....A little concerned about the quality of these pumps as it only had about 30 hours of run time to it.

For what fuel and how much power?
- - - Updated - - -
The best electric pump for the money right now is Magnafuel 750 pro tuner.i am using one and have been on the same pump for 3 years now.Making close to 1000 hp on e85. And it's cheaper then the aeromotive pump you had.

Yes of course.

yep it is inline....i dont like that i have to rely on the fuel pump controller to prevent vapor lock etc.. Cool feature but more crap more problems i think.

What do you need a controller for? Just keep at least 5 gallons of fuel in the tank to keep the fuel from over heating and it will be fine for continuous use.

well aeromotive recommend that the controller is used...im assuming to keep temps down. It is significantly louder than the a1000. I like to play the card safe to prevent issues.

Ok if you feel safer with aeromotive , more power to you. I won't keep you from doing it. It's your car. You ask questions about pumps so I answered because I know a thing or two about pums that's all. And I have seen quite a few aeromotive pumps fail.

not that i feel safer with aeromotive...i feel safer using the speed controller as they recommended it. Not to discredit your option. You asked me why Im using it and i explained why. Haven't seen much people use the eliminator pump without the controller so i assume its really needed. I like the point you made about leaving at least 5 gallons in. Would rather change to a different pump were i wouldn't have to worry if there is at least 5 gallons in the tank.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you were saying the magnafuel needs a controller... it does not

The pro tuner is a bad ass pump I'm trying to fit one is a e36 tank but the pumps need a good sized vent to keep the pump from cavatating.
boris do you have the pump set up to run external?

Yep it's external. I run a fuel cell.

Friends are using the original Bosch "044" in various applications (sr20 AE86, RB30 RPS13, boostet 3.2l m3, Audi TT 1.8l @ 2.0l and EFR turbo...) and never had any problem with it.
RX7 guys also love this pump (our rotarys are fuel hungry) and hate the aeromotive stuff (many, many reported failures)

1 magnafuel flows almost twice as much as 2 Bosch o44 ' s and cost same, less plumbing and draws less amps and compatible with all fuels.. It is easy to figure out what to spend your money on.

I don't know anything about the magnafuel pumps so I have to believe you. E85 compability out of the box also sounds nice, but not everyone needs it.
It always depends on what the setup is needed for. For example, there is a bunch of nice swirl pot assemblys out which are using the bosch pumps.
I also don't know if the OP really needs the power equal to 2 bosch 044 pumps. You sir, obviously need more for your E85 monster :)
Just wanted to give my 0.02$ on Aeromotive vs. Bosch 044 pumps, not if those pumps are the best option for the OP.

I should have asked you guys before buying my Stealth 340. Wish me luck :/
Aeromotive seemed like a decent quality buy. Guess only time will tell.

It is always a good idea to do some research before spending your hard earned money some new shiny thing. The Internet is your friend...

I know this is not a big issue for you djborya, but how is the noise?
djborya

Much quieter then the Aeromotive a1000/Eliminator. And one of the best things about these pumps is if it ever starts to loose its potency, you can buy a $80 rebuild kit and rebuild the pump yourself.

lol dunno - i drive it a lot on the street (relative to most guys running an external pump with -10AN fuel system) and no issues either. But, I have a sumped fuel tank and don't go low on fuel. I have a feeling a lot of people run the car low on gas and don't have sumps and run the pump dry a bit.

Some have good luck with them, some do not, I would rather not take a risk. I have read and seen several failures... Also they do not flow as much as the magnafuel pump. If i used the A1000 I would need 2 of them to power my car. Donovan ran out of pump right in front of me at MIR and had a meltdown and almost totalled his car because of it. That was enough for me to look for other options.

I am Not a big fan of fuelab pumps either. Same type of reputation as aeromotive. But everyone uses what they like/prefer... They say opinions are like assholes everyone has one.

How does the Magnafuel pumps work against pressure? How radical is the drop in flow at max pressure? Specs says 2000hp on a NA engine. How much can it feed on a forced induction engine?

Ok, seems almost identical compared to two Bosch 044's used in parallel. Have been reported that one 044 can handle ~800hp with the check valve removed and electrics relayed. I use two without valves. This is my setup (http://koti.mbnet.fi/pro-ht/Audi_URS4/fuel-lines/surgetank-bosch-044-filters_finished.jpg).
