redrilling and resleeving

as title reads, I'm looking at redrilling and resleeving at set of wheels pad ,from 5x114.3 to 5x120

I've been told to just run bolt on adaptors which i dont want to do due to affecting the offset

id like to hear peoples experiences from who have done so, and if ran into any problems vibrations or wheels magically falling off which I'm told by tyre shop

You are taking away load capacity on the wheels. Whether it will have enough for the car when you are done I would not know. I would not do it.
