Is there any way to Mod an M5 to make in straight-line competitive with something like the SL600? I know it already outhandles just about any merc, but it would be nice if it also outran them too ...
And if so, what tuner? Dinan can't be the only answer ...
I wanted to ask if you could get one into 11 second territory, but that might be stretching it a bit ...

also what m5 are you talking about? i think you could do it to an e34m5 but it would cost alot more for the newer m5's... or you could just get a e60m5 when it comes out

also for 11's you could start by replacing all the body panels with carbon fiber and all of the windows with fiber glass. that should shed some lbs. after that.... btw if you want to do it with a 535 check out pat's e34 535i. 800hp. need i say more? :chicken

Stock E39 M5's have been known to run high 12's with modded ones running low to mid 12's.

Yes sir. And if the guys at Car and Driver knew how to get the beast to hook up, they could have gotten the RMS supercharged beast into 11's before the engine failed.:D
