Hi folks, considering wheels for my Hellrot e36 M3 and saw the new BBS SR on Tire Rack. Has anyone had experience with these wheels on the e36 m3 yet? i know they are a bit slim at 7.5, but looks interesting. Thoughts?

Does not look like a proper wheel for an M3. Certainly inexpensive, but narrow and not light.

Good points for sure. Other wheel I'm considering are BBS RK, although won't be new unfortunately...

Round, straight, true, and little curb rash? Cheaper than new !!!

a bit slim at 7.5

SR001 is 17x8 et35. Still narrow compared to what most people run, but not terrible.

Kosei k1 are a good option as well. In 17x8.5 +40. Require a 15mm spacer up front. I fit them no problem with 225/45r17 and I'm pretty low.

I think it's 17x7 per BBS website (on my phone, so didn't verify again).

I agree. It's my other option, love the Kosei look!

I've got RK's on my 328 and theyre great. No fitment issues and they're quite light.

Now am completely changing directions. Fickle minds..
Thinking of going with Avant Garde M359 for the 1M look. Thoughts on fitment?
Thanks!

It really depends on what you want the wheel for. If it is just looks you can't go wrong with a BBS wheel on a BMW. The BBS wheel is heavier and they are narrow but you can run a 225/45R17 or 235/40R17 all the way around. If it is a racing application a wheel like the Kosei is great for the car and very light.
If I can help let me know.

Hi Jim! Appreciate the input. The car won't be seeing much track duty since I have a dedicated track car.

While I love the look of the Kosei K1 and the BBS RK, I'm now leaning more toward either the Avant Garde M359, Apex EC-7 or VMR VB3, all in 18".

Would like a staggered, concave deep dish look like I have on my e30 M3 (which has old school BBS RC wheels) with at least 235 front and 255 rear tire size, although I'm totally lost on appropriate offset to use on the e36 M3 (not wanting to stretch tires to make fit..)

My first choice are the AG M359 since they closely replicate the 1M wheel, but have no idea what is the best offset setup I'll need to achieve the staggered, concave look.

Car has Koni dampers with Eibach Sport Springs, giving the car a minimal drop of 1" front, 0.8" rear. Thoughts on the best offset? I don't mind doing a minimal fender roll if needed.

I've got different feedback from different tire vendors:

Discount tire locally states 18x8.5 ET15 front, 18x9.5 ET20 rear.

Mod bargains states 18x8.5 ET35 front, 18x9 ET33 rear.

Would love to get some feedback and direction from any and all!

Thanks in advance!

Jake

The 15 and 20mm offset wheels are not goint to fit without modification to the fenders. Depending on the tires even the 35 and 33mm offset is going to take some work to clear.

Jim, thanks for the feedback. I've also emailed AG directly to see if i can get an idea of the extent of fender rolling i'll need to do to achieve fitments.

don't roll your fenders and ruin a nice DD such as yours jake!

Avant Garde wheels bend easily, at least from my experience; the streets here in San Francisco are horrible. If you can afford a nice set off BBS, that would be my recommendation.

I agree Edgar, I'd rather avoid rolling them for sure if i can.

That SUCKS to hear... Do you mind me asking for a bit more history? Which wheels did you have? Was this one incident, or multiple issues with multiple wheels? Houston roads are the pits. Literally. They have to be some of the worst in the country...

I agree, BBS would rock. I had 18" BBS CH on my last e36 M3, while I loved them, I always wished they were a bit more concave and staggered. I'd just like to do something different this time, you know? Pic below.

Here is another pic, this time with my friend's '95 M3 which has Miro 111 wheels. His car looks freaking sick..
