Car is a 2004 545i and tire sizes are...

275/35/18 Rear
245/40/18 Front

The reviews are all over the place and seem to vary depending on size as well. Looking for a decent all season with good tread life.

The pricing.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 -$970

Falken PT-722 -$700

Continental DWS -$840

Cooper Zeon RS3-A -$675

Nitto Motivo -$700

The Michelin's seem to have the best reviews regardless of size, but are pretty $$. I've had the Falken PT-722 on another car and they were great for the ~2000 miles I put on them before I sold the car. I've read great reviews and horrible reviews of the Conti's, the main complaint being a soft and fragile sidewall, and I know nothing of the coopers or the Nittos for that matter.

I don't want to break the bank, but my wife will be driving this car so I'm not going to install a rubbish tire. The current tire on the car is a ~4 year old set of Mastercraft Tourings that the previous owner installed. They are still within the "safe" range of wear; I had the dealer check them today, but they're old and I wouldn't feel confident taking off on a 3k mile road trip.

Thanks guys! Any other tires you think I should consider feel free to post.

I have had two sets of the Conti DWS on two different cars. On one of my other cars, at the same time, I had the more expensive Michelin Pilot SuperSports. Another car I have has the Michelin Pilot PS2. To be honest, I was really surprised by how much I like the Conti DSW's. They are quieter than the two Michelin tires on my other cars, and they have the best ride. As for grip, they are surprisingly grippy, especially in rainy weather. I would highly recommend them. For the price, they are hard to beat.
