View Full Version : Trackday Tire Opinions?

Hey guys, quick question that I'm sure's been asked a million times before. What sort of trackday, super grippy tire's does everyone here prefer?

I'm looking for a set of steer tires for my drift car, so dry performance grippy tires are what I'm looking at. Need's to be a 235/45/17.

Tire wear, I don't care about. Must be street legal too, in the chance I go through all my tires in a day I need to be able to drive home on them haha. Wear won't matter since it gets driven 100 miles around trip to and from the track, so within the year I'll go through them probably it won't matter.

So far my top two choices are looking like Hankook RS-3's, they're on the cheaper end and I've seen good things about them. Another is Nitto NT05's, if I can find them in a 235 that is, couple people saying they like them as well and they aren't too bad on price. Just scare on availability.

Any other suggestions? I'd like to keep it under around $200 a tire, but if there's some super amazing jesus saving tire a bit more, I might spring for it. Hoping to make my car abit more competitive this year once my setup is finished, so a great tire will aid in speed and control, so I'm willing to spend if I have too.

Thanks guys!

I've never used 'em but I've always heard good things. Nice price too.
