Hi all,

Just starting my build. I live in Japan, so the car is a Euro spec M3B (3.0) left-hand-drive.

I'm actually from the UK, so it's not perfectly natural yet, but enjoying LHD. So far I've got Bilstein coilovers, alluminium engine, tranny and rear member bushes, quickshift, shorter ratio diff, FRP front and rear bumpers plus OMP seats and a few other bits and bobs.

Should be ready for drifting in about a month.

Will keep this post updated.

This week I stripped out the interior, cleaned the undercoat off all the usual places, then painted it Gun Metallic with candy pearl. Hoping to get some over-fenders from Ollie and repaint the car black, or something a bit more special in the next month or so. Want to be ready for D1 Street Legal in April.

Haha....2 days of prep! It was a bitch. Although once all the glue and sound deadening shite was out, I only sanded it with scotch pad. 3M wire wool stuff...

Then just two layers of paint, and clear with candy in it. Gave it some lows yesterday and got started on tidying up the outside and getting rid of the cheap shit that the previous owner had fitted. First on the agenda was the disgusting headlights.

I really really hate the headlights that are on the car now:

But picked these up on Yahoo auctions for a good price and started to paint them yellow and remove the lens on the projector side. Going to make up a cover to sit around the projector and paint it black. Maybe Angel Eyes...haven't decied yet

Also picked up some sweet wheels. They are 9J +18 rear, and 9J +25 front. They are Jap fitment 5x114 so I will run PCD adapters for now. The adapters are 15mm thick, so the wheels will probably have some poke.

Going to cut the paint, polish and do some other tidy up jobs on Friday, so if theres anything photoworthy I'll upload. Also found a E39 528 open diff for $15, so that's going to get welded and put in my M3 case.

Yep, we don't get US spec when it comes to BMW's. Right now I have this car for sale. I can export to the US if anyone here is interested. If you want to see more photos check out my Facebook which is http://www.facebook.com/mrdoricar

Perhaps we could be of assistance for some added angle? :)

Nice M3. I would hope you would use your local Japanese sources to put a nice single turbo 2JZ in there. I'm sure parts for a 2J and tuning is much cheaper and easier in Japan verses running a factory BMW motor for competition. Just my 2 cents but I like your progress
