So I call my tire guy and ask him what he has used in 245/40/18. He tells me he has some Conti Pro-Contact for $35 each. He thinks he has 4, I just worry that they probably suck. Anyone have opinions about the Pro-Contacts?

BMW, Audi and MBZ all use the Pro Contact as an OE tire. They are a good riding all season tire. If you can get them for 35.00 each that is a great buy. If you are looking for better handling it is not a good choice.

That's a great price if they have at least 5-6/32 of tread left. New they have 10/32's. If they are SSR's (run flats) they retail about $173 each in a puny 205/55-16. In the 18's you need you can probably add another $100 bucks to that.

Had pro contacts on my 520 touring for nearly 80k miles, good value for money, good grip and good braking in the wet, they were summer tyres. size is 225/60/15. And i drive the car like its stolen. I have bridgestones on it now and i dont think they are as good. hope this helps
