After my passenger side headlight went out a month or 2 ago, I finally got around to tracing the prob. Traced it to the LKM. Read This Article (http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/electrical/LKM.htm) and found more points that needed soldering. But also the relay in the LKM module for the headlights sometimes does'nt connect right and ends up overheated and melts the plastic housing over the contact. Scraped it away and works fine now. Just thought I might metion the relay, because I've never seen anyone mention this.

My passenger low beam has been out for like forever. I know it is the LKM. but I can't seem to fix it. i tried resoldering the contacts on the lowbeam relay. I think it is relay 1. I'm thinking maybe i need to remove all the solder of the relay and redo instead of just putting extra solder over like i did. Any help.

I just put solder on top of it. The relay is #1. it was making contact for one light but not the passenger side. I found out from putting it in and covering the adjacent relay with a shop rag. Then I connected to see if the light was on. Like I said, the relay looks like it is fine, but my palstic melted slightly. If you want, then PM and I'll give you my e-mail for pics. I could then show you want I mean.
