Despite my countless threads on this subject, I am proud to say I finally fixed the 'shifter shake' I had in second gear. I know of several members who are experiencing this problem and hopefully my thread helps.
Backstory:
Shifter would shake in second gear (only) and only under acceleration.
I replaced:
CSB
Guibo
Trans mounts
motor mounts
clutch
pressure plate
throw-out bearing
...and still.... the wobble was still there.
So, about a week ago I picked up a new trans.... finished installing it at 1:30am this morning.
wobble: gone.
Drives great now, and am very happy. I was thinking the detent pins were the culprit, but unfortunately I cannot say for sure as I just bit the bullet and swapped the whole trans.
Anyways, for anyone with the shifter vibration I'm describing, it's most likely your detent pins, or just do what I did and swap the whole setup - imo it's probably your best bet.

Did you find the wobble got progressively worse? I have a slight wobble in second under hard acceleration, but it's relatively tame.

I have it but maybe not so bad as yours. It's not the detent pins. Something else in there is wearing to the point of producing that wobble.
I also plan to replace the transmission but I'm in no rush.

Samesies. I have the 2nd-gear wobble, but only under acceleration when the engine/transmission aren't warmed up. Fixing the detent pins didn't help.
Good job finally solving this problem. I thought it was transmission related. My guess is the shift forks inside the transmssion experience wear, and because with any town or mixed driving, 2nd gear is the most common gear you shift up to, or downshift to, the problem happens with the 2nd gear shift fork first.

See now that statements real interesting to me. If it only happens when it isn't warm, I would bet that it is your detent pins.
As you may already know, some people have the '5th gear lean' but it goes away when the trans gets warm. And it makes sense too, since the detent pin won't stick after she warms up. The current trans that I have now does it - and after it warms up the shifter doesn't lean. But, you said you've already replaced your detent pins and that hasn't solved the problem - which is why I'm surprised.
Good job fixing it but that's like $1500 in parts and a ton of time to fix a little wobble.
Mine happens cold or warm. Doesn't matter. I've done the detent pins and a number of other driveline related replacements/repairs (not for the wobble, just normal maintenance) and there was no improvement. I always thought the problem was transmission related but it shifts smoothly, doesn't make noise and I've driven my 325 (although it's a Getrag) without a second gear so I'm not too worried about it.

Meh, worth it in my opinion. I look at it as if I simply did 'preventative maintenance' and the trans was the only real issue haha.
