Is 235/45/17 tire on LCI xi too wide?

I am trying to replace my 225/50/17 tires on my '08 535xi, and the shop was suggesting putting 235/45/17. It's only a small increase in width, so I was wondering if anybody can chime in and tell me if there may be any issues with running that wider size?
It will go on a stock 7.5 wide rim, which is the narrowest size that is recommended to that width, so I am also a bit weary about that part.

I have been running 235/45/17 from my e34 to my current e39 with nil issues...
The e60 shud be able to adapt....

That's fine. BMW has offered a 235 on a 7.5" wheel from the factory.
