Help with my idrive!! It keeps freezing with the bmw logo

so my idrive keeps freezing on bmw logo, cant listen to music nor enter to the navigation. it simply freezes on the bmw logo and nothing change.
its my bmw 530 2004. so any help plzz ?!

I have this same issue from time to time, unfortunately I don't have any answers for you. I also have a 2004 so I suspect it might just be getting old. Usually when I have it freeze up on me, it either kicks on after being frozen or will work after turning the car off and letting it sit.

I'm not familiar with this issue and have no idea, but the first thing I would do is check the battery

Good to know. Sometimes mine will boot up then reset on its own when I clear the warning screen, but it always boots back up. I've also noticed it is a little more fickle when the weather gets colder, my iDrive screen also seems a little dimmer for a few minutes when it is colder out.
