I think I may have inquired about this problem a few months ago.
Here is the problem: turn on the car-all lights off
I drive the car for a few miles-the DSC and Yellow Brake light come on
I don't know how to explain this properly but when they come on,I noticed that it's almost like the car would brake by itself cutting the acceleration.
I have to push the pedal harder to make the car move again.
Also when I turn off the car and back on again, the lights go off until a few miles later.
My mechanic read the abs codes and he said the left front wheel speed sensor was bad.(he was wrong with a few diagnostics before that set me back a few hundreds in repairs that weren't needed at the time)
My question is: could that wheel speed sensor be the culprit?

Sounds more like a short in the wire or something.

If its throwing that code replace the sensor. If you don't like your mechanic, get a second opinion.

That sounds like a possibility since it's coming on at times and it's not on all the time.
Will have to check the wire

Hello all,
I have a 2002 BMW 330I, and i have been having the trifecta lights on. it first started in June when they would periodically come on. So for the last 6 months they have been off and now they are on permanently. i changed both rear wheel speed sensors, with no luck, then i had codes read and pulled (5df5), but read on another thread that when they had this code on they locked up brakes (skid Stop) and it turned the lights off. so i said what the heck and tried it, boom lights where off for a day or so and abs and dsc were working as they should, now they are back on, and i really hope it is a relay instead or something?? because periodically they stay off and then turn off? all help would greatly be appreciated??

It maybe your ABS modulator, I have rad that will cause the light to turn on. Over a period of time your speedo will stop working.

Yes, most the time it's the sensor if the code said so, but occasionally it's the rings (teeth like surface that the sensor is read of) so contaminated to the point the signal is fuzzy that it can't make out your speed.

Is it time to replace your pad and rotors? If so, try topping off your brake fluid -- if the rotors and pads are worn enough, the brake pistons will be more extended, meaning more brake fluid is in the brake lines.
