Hey guys,

I have a very clean convertible E30 318i that I'd like to either sell for $5000 or trade for a 325i/is non-convertible in similar condition (I can't bring money to the table, unfortunately). I'm willing to trade for a sedan, even an automatic. I want to stay in an E30, but I need a more family-friendly version (I have two young children and a wife who doesn't like driving a stick). Motivated seller -- I welcome any offers.

I don't know if I have enough posts to attach photos, so here is a link to the Craigslist ad:

Before I go on, the car has a recovered salvage title. It was in an accident several years ago, apparently side swiped on the passenger side. The damage was only cosmetic and was repaired. (I took it to a body shop and they confirmed that there is no structural damage -- everything lines up.) Unfortunately it doesn't take much to total these cars, as we all know. I want to emphasize, though, that it is still in excellent condition aesthetically, and more importantly it is completely mechanically sound. I would not have purchased it otherwise.

I will try to describe the car in as much detail as I can.

The good:

125xxx miles
Runs flawlessly. I had to replace the wiring harness to the fuel pump at one point ($10 fix), but otherwise I have not had even the ghost of an issue with this car. It's been my daily for the past year and I would drive it anywhere without a second thought.
No dents or dings anywhere on the body
Reupholstered interior (seats and door cards)
New shift/parking boots and knob
Very clean carpet
New side mirrors
New top (1 year old) with a nice, clear window
Repainted brilliantrot, the original color. Paint is a 9/10 and gets a lot of attention.
No rust (AZ car)
5 speed manual, clutch was replaced by previous owner (feels awesome, super tight and zero slipping)
CD player with bluetooth, USB
Euro clock
17" wheels in good condition (7/10)
Will include new door sills, new weatherstrips for the windows, a new antenna seal, and front speaker covers that I never got around to installing
Replaced front pads/rotors 5k miles ago. Will include back pads/rotors as well.
Everything has been highly maintained, as you can see in the photos. I can't tell you how many compliments I get about how clean it looks.

The bad:

Salvage title
Typical cracked dash
Passenger power window is a little finicky. Sometimes it goes up without a hitch, sometimes it inches its way up.
Back right window regulator squeaks
Missing an exhaust clip, so I get a bit of a hum at 65 mph or so
Front right speaker is fuzzy at low frequencies
A/C works just fine, but doesn't blow cold enough to keep things cool in 115 degrees. In normal temperatures it's great, though.
A few very small rock chips and some minor scratches in the paint. Not at all noticeable unless you're looking for them.
Some very slight bubbling in the vinyl on the back interior panels
I just replaced the front right tire (punctured it on something in a parking lot). The rest have plenty of tread but are not matching.
The release handle for the convertible top lid is cracked and should be replaced. It still works, but you have to hold it with one hand to pop the lid. These cost $20 new on ebay.

This is a fantastic car that has been well-preserved. If you're local and a serious buyer, I'm happy to let you bring it to a mechanic to have it looked over. Feel free to call/text @ 480.438.3637.
