hi recently joined The vintage and Classic Car Club OF Pakistan (VCCCP), i was wondering can the E32 be called a classic? Da36664 my vin, as per my understanding in car terms Classic = 20 + years old and less then a hundres years old. Vintage = 1920 to 1930 cars and retro = cars from the current Era but out fashioned or reletively less older cars having traits from the past e.g The Mini whats your input? :confused

Classic car definition depends on country:
Classic car
A classic car is an older car; the exact definition varies around the world. The Classic Car Club of America maintains that a car must be between 30 and 49 years old to be a classic, while cars between 50 and 99 fall into a pre-antique class, and cars 100 years and older fall into the Antique Class. In the UK, 'classic cars' range from veteran (pre–First World War), to vintage (1919–1930), to post-vintage (1930s). Post–Second World War classic cars are not so precisely defined.

BMW will not stop producing parts for the E32. Maybe you misunderstood that. They have their own system when to move the older BMW models to the BMW classic section, for the older cars they have a separate division to take care of "classic" cars. If I remember correctly it is 25 years after last production year So if you speak in BMW terms, yes, your E32 is classic, as it is served by the BMW classis division ;-)

You even can order a certificate:
BMW Classic Vehicle certificate.
Starting on 1 January 2012, the BMW Classic Certificate is being offered in a new, contemporary layout.
As well as the familiar single-page version confirming the production and delivery dates of your vehicle, BMW Group Archive will in future also offer a two-page version presenting all the technical details of your vehicle. Both certificates will be printed on 130 g paper with engraved hologram and protected by a high-quality certificate folder with glossy printing and embossing. Please download the BMW Classic Certificate in the right frame or in our Online Shop.
Ever checked in the archive? check here for old fotos and movies of the E32 http://www.bmw-classic.de/2/webmill.php?fx=g&id=630111

According to Canadian Law, my Dinan E32 is a 'classic' as it is over 25 years old... barely. A february '88 build.

To get the 'Classic' tag from Florida the car has to be 30 years old (which means I have 5 more years before I can get one for the 88 735i that I have now).

In Georgia, a car needs to be 25 yrs old or more to qualify as a "Classic" car. And then the owner can opt for a "hobby" license plate (for an extra tag fee of course). So my '88 E32 would qualify.
