Hi i recently started my car again after its been sitting still for a while (it asked a activation code, see my other topic for more info about that or just pm me) and i solved it and got it running again by pulling fuse nr 26 out. Now the problem is that since fuse nr 26 on the 750 is connected to the instrumentcluster the needles of the speed and rpm-meter dont move/work. Can somebody help me fix this? When i put fuse nr 26 back in it asks the code again so the car wont start with the fuse in. And the sad part is i dont have DIS or whatever to sort things out :(.

Here is what flows thru Fuse 26. I can only guess that the one going to the EWS is what causes it to ask for the code. Perhaps someone can confirm this. When I first looked at it I thought there was no way the car would start without F26. There are other fuses to the EWS however. You can try cutting that wire to the EWS. It is a three colored wire, red/black/yellow. It is Pin 10 on the EWS module. If that is the trouble and you remove that wire, you can leave F26 in to allow everything else to work.

PA soft may reveal the code that the cluster is asking for. I was able to solve this issue for a local by reprogramming the cluster via DIS. He also had to pull the fuse for the car to even start, and also had no tach/speedo until I fixed it. Best bet is to find a shop or someone with DIS, drive it to them and reprogram the cluster. It takes me longer to turn on the laptop then to reprogram it.

Good info. That would certainly be a better option, although it would be interesting to see if that wire is what handles that task.
