LEW steering angle sensor EEPROM - need soft file

Hi dear BMW e38 lovers,

I have an E38 740i 1998 and today I just made the biggest mistake. I connected the bmw scanner 1.4.0 PA Soft and at LEW module which is steering angle sensor module, I wrote the EEPROM with IKE info. by mistake. Since that the yellow round light is on DSC. So now I need the file from a good LEW module EEPROM to load it in my one. Any help?

PS: - since my stupid mistake the ABS module has an error "can not communicate with steering angle sensor".

Recode it with NCS using expert mode if that makes any sense to you....

Use dis 4.4 to reset the steering angle sensor. It's in the service function section of dis.
It's most likely just out of alignment and needs to be reset

Don't know or have any other soft than PA Soft. 1.4.0.7 What I need is a file LEW....with ebd end from a good steering angle sensor. My one is not smoked but it had a different info stored in it than the normal one and I need the original one. Anyone who can read the eeprom and save the info in a file. I need that file. I know the theory but I need something practically now.
Probably if I will find another 740i to read the eeprom and than to put the info in my one but I thought maybe I will find someone online with experience.

Try recoding it back to factory info with NCS. You may of fried the module if it cant communicate with it...

Hi mate, well as I said I don't have NCS only PA. What I try to do is to find someone with Bmw 7 series to clone the info from LEW eeprom. The unit is not fried I can communicate with it the only prob is that i's got wrong info on it. I uploaded IKE eeprom info in LEW eeprom. If I pres code button I need info as well because don't have it saved. And where I can get NCS? Will my interface and cable work with it? I just thought that I will find someone here on forum to read the LEW unit eeprom save the file and send it to me to do my job.

Bmw dealer said to buy a new one and they will fit and code it. They said only once you can code a unit. I don't believe them. They made a quote of 352£. LOL

Goto software section for all your information needs! I dont use PA Soft much...
