Aside from the dealership where is a good place to get OEM BMW parts (i.e. interior trim pieces, exterior pieces, etc.) besides the dealer?

I have a few interior pieces I need to replace and I don't particularly want to get ripped off by my dealer.

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty partial to www.autohausaz.com But check around and compare, it's possible you can get the bet prices by shopping a bit of all of them. Side note, some places give free shipping for orders over 50 or 75 bucks; autohausaz.com does.

I've also used pelican parts and rockauto.com. I'll check out bmwpartstore too!

Okay so one thing I noticed is that most of these places don't have OEM switches.

For instance, I need a new window switch for the center console and rather than buy one used I would just as well buy one new. Any idea if this is a dealer only thing or if there's someplace that sells these?

For your example I have two offerings the genuine BMW switch (same as you'd buy from your dealers parts counter) as well as the Uro brand switch. You'll find both HERE (http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E36-M3-S52_3.2l/Interior/Switches/Window/?salesrep=JRiggsbee&utm_source=bimmerforums&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=JRiggsbee&utm_campaign=postreply) for your E36 M.

Thanks so much for the link, I'll definitely be ordering some of those.

Two more switches I need that I figure I might as well ask and see if you guys have... The HK speaker HiFi switch and the auto door lock switch. Both of mine have the lights burnt out in them.

This may be a silly question, but any chance the one touch window switch (green connector) can be used on 98 m3 sunroof?

No problem, here is what I found digging in the parts diagrams.

The "HiFI" switch should be BMW part number 61318363638 (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/61318363638/ES168135/?salesrep=JRiggsbee&utm_source=bimmerforums&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=JRiggsbee&utm_campaign=postreply), which I have HERE (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/61318363638/ES168135/?salesrep=JRiggsbee&utm_source=bimmerforums&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=JRiggsbee&utm_campaign=postreply).

The door lock switch is 61318368931 (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/61318368931/ES168183/?salesrep=JRiggsbee&utm_source=bimmerforums&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=JRiggsbee&utm_campaign=postreply), which can be found HERE (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/61318368931/ES168183/?salesrep=JRiggsbee&utm_source=bimmerforums&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=JRiggsbee&utm_campaign=postreply).

You'll need to pull the switch down and look for the green tab on the back of yours. BMW switched around which auto switch was used a few times during the E36s production. The best way to make sure you're getting the correct one is to pull yours out and look for the green connector.

Who knew the switches were so spendy! I wonder if it's possible to replace a burnt out light in a switch?
