Blower motor went out in my 2001 740i, anyone in the Seattle area willing to replace it for me? I will pay, just don't want to pay a dealer. I have a big garage in the northend.
Thank you. Kenny

I wish I had a little clue as to what all that information says. Don't even know where to start :(

You can probably pull off the job yourself. You don't need many tools, just have to remove the upper part of the dashboard. There's a DIY video by Edwin, that I used when I replaced a resistor pack on my 98 740il. I removed the upper dash at a junk yard in less than 20 minutes. On your car, doing it carefully, I would say no more than 1.5-2 hours to remove everything.

Don't do like I did. Check the fuses first! If you open the fusebox under the hood, there is a chart to help you ID the fuses. If there is one blown, you can't miss it.

There is alot of 'fluff' in that link, pin outs and such. If you look at the image below my last pic where it lists the fuses, it shows what to check. On yours, you want to make sure fuses 11, 20 and 81 are all good. Even though the WDS shows there to be a blower relay behind the glove box, there may not be one on the cars that have fuse 81 (post 09/98 builds). Unfortunately, when the blower motor stop working, it's usually the blower or resistor itself. As stated above, it's really not a difficult job if you follow the DIY provided. Just takes some time.

Thanks for all the tips, but I would like someone who has done it before to perform the job. Pleaseeee!
