Hello everyone.
I know there is a few topics with the same question but I think I have different car demands.

So I hope in next I will going to buy a car. Or even wait for another year to buy it in Germany. I think that won't be much changes in that period of time.

So, E39 2000-2003 or E46 Coupe.
530i or 330ci. Don't recommend 540i, M3/M5 because that is too much for me.

- Car will be used as daily driver
- I will, most likely if I buy any of these cars, go for LPG. Of course if engine is good with it. I had positive experience with LPG. And cheaper drive is always +
- I want car for long run. I'm not that kind a guy who will change car every year or so.
- Much space isn't needed, but it comes in handy.
- I'm not interested in too much tuning or other customization. Only regular things [exhaust, nice rims, navigation and thats it]
- Cheaper to maintain?
- More fun to drive?

I always liked those little technology things on car. So I guess BMW 5 has more equipment.
But on other hand, E46 coupe seems like more fun to drive and more sporty which is a + for me.

Thanks. And sorry for my bad english.

Drive both, at least cleaned well maintained models of both cars and see what you like more.

My experience with an e46 compared to an e39 is the e39 has a much much nicer interior. It feels more solid and considerably less cheap. Tech wise, both cars are rather similar and they can both be had with the same engines if a small engine is what you are looking for.

The best thing is to definitely test drive both and see which you like more.

I prefer the 5. Driven both and the E39 felt superior to me. However a good example of one may be better than the other in worse shape.

if you want space than the COUPE is not for you. it virtually has no rear seat unless you are 5 yrs old or younger.

BUT as stated, drive both and go from there.

Do you want comfort/size or agility/speed?

Thank you for your help guys!

Much space isn't needed but it comes in handy because it will be used as daily driving car.
Comfort is +. I will most likely one-two times of year go on long trip. 10-12 hours of driving. So comfort and cruise control can be a good thing to have.
I think 530i has more than enough power and can be fun to drive?

What about maintenance? Which car is cheaper to maintain?

Buy either one.
What is more important is how the owner maintained it.
And the price.
