steering rack Q

ive got about half an inch or so of play in the steering wheel. got under the car, tie rods are good, i can see the input shaft move going into the rack, and no movement coming out. Its only a small amount but i guess thats enough to cause my issues?

just wanted to verify before i go look around for a replacement/upgrade

I would also like to know the cause of play in the steering wheel. I'm also pretty sure it's the rack but I just want to make sure before I spend 400$+
It would be nice to hear what fixes this problem

Have you tried the steering wheel guibo? My rack has 5k on it, new tie rods, I've got new control arms, new bushings, and still have some play in the wheel. Only thing left is the steering coupling.

done that, the play is past the quibo, i can see splines move on the input shaft but no rack movement
