Offline door handle affecting window regulator?

I brought my car into a local mechanic to replace the window regulator and he's claiming that the slightly offline door handle is causing the problem and will need to be replaced as well. Is this plausible? I've done a ton of googling and there is nothing to suggest that these two things are related. Any advice is appreciated.

Sounds like bs to me. Totally seperate items. Handle would have to be really effed up to get in the way of the regulator. What problem were u trying to fix

Originally I wanted my window fixed. I could hear the motor working but the Window wasn't moving so I took it to get the regulator replaced. He said the door handle was so bent it was affecting the regulator.
