Trunk lock remote

2007 525...replaced trunk lock and latch..won't t open with remote or from inside. The key opens it. Is there a sensor? Thank you

Hey, i have the exact same problem with my 2004 545i, replaced the latch $110 at the dealler, didn't help, have no idea what it is....:(

There's a broken wire in the harness going to the trunk. Its the the accordion looking rubber boot

Had a similar issue in my old E36, notorious for this. Went to the junkyard and cut out a section of wiring from the rear taillight into the interior of the car so i knew i had a good wire bundle. On my E36 I removed section from inside the trunk lid all the way down the where it meets the rear taillight area. It worked great and all of the wiring matched. The reason i went that far is because it typically had multiple bad wires and the harness was cheap at the wrecker.

Yours will be a little different but you get the idea. You can always trace each wire with a multimeter and wire tap int he trunk area, but it could be a pain.
